Sarah den Boer is chief and final editor for various leading specialist magazines in the beauty industry. A journalist by profession, she is also a certified beautician, specializing in various methods of skin improvement and permanent depilation. For a number of years she ran a successful beauty salon in Bussum. She also taught at a private beauty institute.
Sarah enjoys a good challenge. She had the privilege of being the first journalist to interview the backstage beauty team of David Letterman (New York), Oprah Winfrey (Chicago), Le Moulin Rouge (Paris) and Le Crazy Horse (Paris).
In addition to her professional passions, Sarah has a personal passion for nutrition and gastronomy. A long-desired wish came true when she worked as a trainee in three-star chef Alain Passard’s kitchen (Restaurant l’Arpège, Paris) as well as in the kitchen of three-star chef Jonnie Boer (Restaurant De Librije and Librije’s Zusje, Zwolle). In 2012 Sarah had the privilege to translate Alain Passard’s book in the Dutch language, which resulted in a successful book sale in the Netherlands and Belgium.
In her spare time, Sarah is working on an extended writing project, which involves elaborate research together with a number of researchers of the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities (Rijksmuseum van Oudheden) in Leiden, and the RMN (United National Museums) in Paris (including Musée du Louvre, Musée d’Orsay and Musée Guimet). Sarah’s bilingual and bicultural upbringing (Dutch/French) is helpful in this respect.
